Re: rules violation?
---
Shadow Government et. al. -
I just got wetted by my assasin. No worries, good work on his part, etc.. Except he admitted to me that he was in fact the drunken slob trying to break into our back patio this past Saturday night.
I asked about this when I was picking up my folder in LIC on Monday night, and I was assured that breaking and entering was a violation of the rules. As such, I assumed that the incident from this past Saturday night was not related to the Streetwars game, and I did not update our management company with any additional information on our incident report. Here's a brief summary of what happened:
About 15 minutes after I arrived home at approximately 1:00am Sunday morning, Sept 9, my roommate, his girlfriend, and I all heard a loud bang from our back patio (private, not shared - direct entrance into our apartment). My roommate and I turned on the lights and walked out there, and saw one guy who was trying to kick in the gate on our north wall, and another on top of the wall who was apparently trying to climb in. Upon seeing us, they fled back into our neighbor's yard/building. We went out front but by that time they had apparently left the neighbor's building.
This was a big scare, particularly for my roommates' girlfriend, and we had to have maintenance out on Monday to weld the gate back into place as it had been broken in the break-in attempt. We were pissed about this, and it was all I could do not to deck this (REDACTED) when he jokingly told me it was him trying to get into our place. Its bull(REDACTED).
Instead, I gave him my card and decided to email you guys. This guy has a lot of info on me - obviously - and I don't want to seriously piss off someone who's already stupid enough to try breaking into my place, so I thought I'd inform you guys and see what you want to do. Please feel free to call me if you want any more information: (REDACTED).

Was the person in question David or Matt?
Rest assured, they will be disciplined. I'm down to squeeze em for dollaz as we ll if you had to pay to have the gate fixed.
Sorry about that.
There's always a douchebag or two that gets into the game...sorry it ihad to be the person hunting you.

I didn't catch his name, doh. He showed me his card, he had a goatee just below his lower lip, and slicked back shaggy hair. Said he was a research doctor of some sort, also said he wasn't even going to be able to finish the game as he had to go to India to see his wife next week. I'm sure he'll be submitting a kill report on me shortly.
Am I still out of the game in this case?

But.
The douche that kicked your gate in will be much worse off.

From that guy:
As I explained to the individual below, I was in no way shape or form trying to "break in" to his apartment. I had met someone who lives in the building next door and he showed me that I could see the back of the building from the back and this was a way to get into the garbage area of the building. The guy in the next building assured me that I could access this.
I had thought about using this not to get into his apartment but to see if he was there or use this to access the stairwell and wait him out - thinking that this was legit. I did not end up using this route and instead waited on the street inside my car and the bar across the street.
I do sincerely apologize to him as I meant no harm and was just scouting stuff out and trying to stick to the rules and play fairly. It was no intention to scare him, his roomate or the roomate's girlfriend. I explained that I was not trying to get into his apartment also.
If you would like, he can have his card back and I will remove myself from the game. I am not going to put up with the threat of real violence even mentioned as something that they wanted or restrained themselves from doing. Its not what I signed up for and I am definitely not going to put up with that.

Wow. Ok. I guess you forwarded my email to him. In that case, I'd ask you to forward him the following as well:
He and whoever was with him broke our gate. It was broken. I'm not sure how we should not interpret that as a break-in attempt, in the middle of the night. We saw a person behind the gate and one on top of the wall. If we had not been there, I find it hard to believe that they would not have entered our back yard. If they had come in there, we would have detained them, and they would likely have spent the night in jail, at a minimum. It is private property no matter what any guy in the next building says. That's why there's a locked gate there.
I appreciate the apology but I don't think he understands what its like to have people attempting to break into one's home. Regardless of his intentions, he did scare us. If we hadn't been home, would it have stopped with him looking in our bedroom windows, or trying to get into our place? Its not a good feeling.
That said, the threat of violence / restraining myself from such was a direct result of that feeling, but it was uncalled for. Honestly, it was more tough talk in an email that I didn't expect he would ever read, and I'm not a violent guy. I apologize for implying that, my assassin seemed like an otherwise decent guy (although I still feel he made a serious mistake and broke the game rules). I realize none of us signed up for this to make real enemies, and I'd be happy to buy him a drink at Flight to prove that there's no hard feelings.
As for the game itself, I still feel this situation is (REDACTED) up. My assassin got an early visual on me during a break-in attempt (a direct violation of the rules) and I went out of the game early because of it. I think my assassin's offer of returning my card and removing himself from the game was respectable and a reasonable solution given the situation, but a) the Shadow Government sees fit to handle this some other way (as to what that is, I still have no idea, I've just been told I'm out), and b) at this point I'm more concerned about things being OK between me and my assassin than whatever happens with the game.

I will forward this to your guy...
I'm pretty sure things are cool between you two regardless. I spoke with him and he did not seem vengeful or upset, just kinda down that the situation deteriorated and progressed as it did.
As for the game, had you given us notice/brought this up before we marked you dead, before you gave up your card and before we gave out the following target, we could have put you back into the game. At this point that is not possible. Nor would it be fair to all the other players that have been playing, being hunted and killing all week or had late disputes which we had to deny. As for your assassins punishment - he will be out of the game shortly as well.

I did bring it up on the night when I picked up my first target, but as I told the guy I had no idea if it was some random guys or dudes related to the game. I gave up my card and emailed you guys within 5 minutes after I had given it up, before he could have submitted the kill report or you could have marked me as dead anyway. So, with respect, you had the information before you gave out the following target.

What would you have me do?
It's not like you disputed the kill in the OG email to us, you merely stated that he was the one that fucked with your joint. How does that make you alive again?

I thought I was pretty clear in the original email that him tagging me after a break in attempt was, as I put it, "bull(REDACTED)." I told you I gave him the card and emailed you immediately. If someone's broken the rules in order to get me, it seems only logical he should be DQ'd and I should have a second chance.
Apparently I didn't state it clearly enough for you in the first email, but don't tell me that I didn't give you notice / bring it up. That's insulting. I'm already out of the game by someone who broke the rules, and I had my joint (REDACTED) with. Don't tell me its somehow my fault.
I'm honestly sorry this has turned into such a mess for you, I know I wouldn't want to deal with it, but put yourself in my shoes - I didn't get a very fair shake. You could at least admit that after all this.

I think I have been pretty clear in admitting that what went down was not legit, acceptable or appropriate an action in this game.
I have also made it clear that homeboy will be punished and removed from the game.
The break in attempt however did not have anything to do with you getting killed. His rule breaking the night prior to you dying was brought to my attention after you died. So, he is removed, you are dead. Does that not make sense?

Actually, the rule breaking was brought to your attention the night I picked up my first target, 2 full days before I died. I just couldn't prove it was him at that point. Once I could, I emailed you immediately. So yeah...it doesn't make sense.

Point being that we did not know who it was til after you died.
And the fact still remains that the rule breaking was removed from the kill - i.e. had he not broken the rules prior in all likelihood he still would have killed you.
That make more sense to you?
